Wow, it's been a while since the last update. There are several things to mention, so I'll get started. We're on the cover of this month's issue of Southeast Peformer. There's also a nice little article inside about us, as well. You can read it here.

We're also happy to report that we've been nominated for two Athens Music Awards. One for Best Heavy/Hard Rock Band and the other for Album of the Year. We're very excited and, to use the old cliche, it's an honor just to be nominated. But we wouldn't mind winning, either. If you'd like to vote for us, you can do it online here. Or you can do it the old-fashioned way by picking up a Flapole around town and filling out the ballot. The deadline for voting is Wednesday, May 31. The winners will be announced at the annual Athens Music Awards ceremony which will be held at the Morton Theatre on Thursday, June 22.

And, if you missed our Live in the Lobby performance on WUOG back in April, you can listen to it here. You can also subscribe to the WUOG podcast by dragging this link to your podcast player of choice.

That's all for now.

Greetings and salutations. We've been keeping busy lately - practicing and playing shows. We just got back from a two-day trip to Washington D.C. playing with Dirty On Purpose and Soft Complex. It was a lot of fun and a great chance to play with some really cool bands. We'd like to thank Winston Parker for making the trip with us. Winston did a great job filling in for Roy on synth as well as playing some mean saxophone on a couple songs.

We're hoping to post some pictures from some of our recent out-of-town trips and shows sometime in the near future, so keep checking the PHOTOS page for updates.

We also wanted to mention that you can now download "Plague Dogs" on iTunes. If digital downloads are your thing, go here to download it.

Stay tuned...

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we got another review from Pitchfork yesterday. This time it was a review of the whole album. They gave it a 7.9! You can read the review here.

We also have more shows currently being booked, including another trip down to Florida. We'll also be heading back up to New York City and D.C. More details will be available on the shows page when they become available.

And last, but not least, we want to congratulate former Heros Severum drummer Jeff and his wife Natasha. They're now the proud parents of a new baby boy. His name is Kai Atticus Cummings and he was born on February 18. Congratulations Jeff and Natasha!

Hi everyone. It's been a while since our last update. Eric's been very busy recording lots of bands for the AthFest CD, promoting the "Plague Dogs" CD, and booking shows. The new phenomenon known as MySpace has also had quite an effect on the relevance of our website and band websites in general. Because of this, our website has gone somewhat neglected for the past couple of months. Well, not completely...

I decided to take this time to re-design the site. We added some band photos, an up-to-date merch section, and a links page. The coolest part, though, is the new media player at the bottom of the page. You can listen to "Plague Dogs" in its entirety while your browsing the site, although it will probably work better if you have a high-speed internet connection (our apologies to dial-up users). Since I'm uploading all the new files, I thought I'd give everyone an update. So here goes...

The big news is that "Plague Dogs" debuted on CMJ at #144 and has been holding that position for the past three weeks. That's a higher debut than "Wonderful Educated Bear", which peaked at #158, so that's very good news!

In other good news, "Plague Dogs" was named one of the Best Local Albums of 2005 by Flagppole Magazine. It came in at number four. That's quite an honor, considering some of the other artists that were picked.

Press has also started to come in for the new CD. One of the best reviews so far has has been a four-star track review for A Sick Dog (although I couldn't really tell it was a good review just by reading it). You can check it out here. Here are some other reviews, as well.

We've already played a few shows this year - in Florida. It was a quick trip, but a successful one overall. We met some really cool people and had a great time. Thanks to Capillary Action, the Satsukos, and fAlterboy for being super nice and for making the trip a very enjoyable one.

We will, of course, be playing many more shows in the near future, so be sure to check the shows page for the latest dates. We would like to mention that we're playing the Mental Health Benefit at Nuci's Space on February 9 here in Athens along with Some Animal, Hope For agoldensummer, and Five-Eight. It should be a great show, plus it's a benefit for Nuci's Space and the Mental Health Foundation so we encourage you to come check it out.

Well, that's all I have for now. As soon as Eric has a minute, I'm sure he'll want to post his comments, so stay tuned...
